AOA sir! i from NUST. just started preparation for CCNA. your lectures are v helping.i found u better than our own teachers in your simple way of explaining the deep ideas. QTN? 127.0.0.1 is loopback then why are we not using remaining possible combinations from class A having this network id i.e 127.0.0.2 or 127.2.23.4 etc in our network.
My dear friend good question loop back address is a part of 127.0.0.0/8 block - This block is assigned for use as the Internet host loopback address. A datagram sent by a higher level protocol to an address anywhere within this block should loop back inside the host. This is ordinarily implemented using only 127.0.0.1/32 for loopback, but no addresses within this block should ever appear on any network anywhere , In short 127.0.0.0 / 8 whole block is booked for loopback by IETF if you ping 127.1.1.1 it will also doo loopback. I hope this answer the question.
